Why Survival Swim Lessons?
Drowning is the number 1 cause of accidental death in children under 4 years old.
Going beyond traditional swimming instruction, survival swim lessons teach children aquatic survival techniques designed to help them survive should they reach the water alone. These are proven techniques that continue to help children self rescue in the water.
The instructor safely and gently guides your child through the process of mastering his/her survival skills. The protocols and ongoing education your Instructor receives ensures that your child, at the end of lessons, will be able to successfully demonstrate the age appropriate survival sequence.
Lessons are specialized for each child dependent on their social, emotional and developmental skills to ensure they are comfortable in the water. Children from six months to six years will learn the skills needed to self rescue in the water. A child as young as six months will learn to roll back into a float. Once the child can walk, they will learn to roll back into a float and complete a sequence of swimming and floating. These skills are gradually learned over the course of the program. They will be able to complete them in full clothing upon program completion.
